Charged with educating, informing, and protecting consumers, the Office staffs a Consumer Hotline; investigates consumer problems; publishes brochures, alerts, and reports; and monitors the marketplace to promote fair and honest competition. The Office also recommends consumer protection policies, and coordinates and implements policy and planning for nine regulatory divisions under its supervision. In addition, it also oversees the Lemon Law Program and the Home Improvement Contractor Law Program.
